A tailor’s bunion or “bunionette” is a prominence on the outside of the foot.
Symptoms
The condition may or may not be painful. Pain is typically created by rubbing of the prominence against shoes. Redness, swelling, and pain may develop at the site of the bump.
What to Expect When You See the Doctor
Treatment begins with non-surgical therapies including icing, padding, shoe modifications and / or injection therapy. Surgery is often considered when pain continues despite conservative options. Surgical procedures are tailored to the patient and depend on the severity of deformity and overall health of the patient.
